Genuine Review from Long time Customer – 5 STARS
I’ve been with TSOHOST for 5 years and have never had an issue with either the hosting or the support. I could end the review here. If you are an individual with modest needs, such as a blogger or small business, even with several domains Tsohost has the solution for you.
The process of registering new domains is simple, as is purchasing domain hosting which is available for as little as £1.61/month.
The interface is easy to use but also sophisticated enough to allow experienced users a great degree of flexibility. They utilise cPanel which is a very popular Linux based dashboard used to manage your webhosting and files.
Purchases and changes are practically instantaneous. There are no long waiting times for domains or hosting to become live and you can literally be up and running in minutes.
Personally I have never had the need to utilise support for a problem. The only requirement I have had for support has been assistance on how to do things beyond my experience level where I needed help. On each occasion the agent has identified the issue and resolved it without fuss.
Let’s take a look at Tsohost. They were founded in 1999 as a web hosting provider, but have since expanded to offer other services including domain registration, email, and website builder software. In 2009, they launched a cloud computing service called eCloud. In 2013, Tsohost relocated from Bedfordshire to their new offices in Ipswich.
They are one of the pioneers in the web hosting industry. They offer shared, reseller and dedicated hosting services and offers website hosting services for business and personal use. They offer shared hosting, virtual private servers (VPS), cloud solutions, dedicated servers, email hosting and domain names. They host over 2 million websites, including WordPress Web hosts.
The company also owns and operates its own data center in Salt Lake City, Utah supplying hosting services to clients in the United States and Europe.
As of October 2016, Tsohost has adopted an open-source platform to allow for broader flexibility in the type of hardware they can use, reducing dependence on proprietary software or hardware vendors.
Tsohost‘s eco-friendly approach is worth noting, as they say its UK centre is powered by renewable energy derived from hydroelectric and wind sources.
Regardless of the plan you choose, you’ll get a free domain, unlimited bandwidth, one free migration, and 50% off basic SSL.
I have the Deluxe package and have 3 websites hosted under the one package.
In terms of servers, they provide VPS, dedicated servers, and intricate hosting, all of which have comparable price and features for Windows and Linux.
PayPal and credit/debit cards are payment options, and there is a money-back guarantee available for the first 30 days of an annual plan, or the first 48 hours if the plan covers a month.
Speed and experience
Although I haven’t personally checked the speeds of Tsohost I have been able to find an independent speed test. All I can say is that I have never found their hosting sluggish, or laggy. The GTmetrix test on their main site indicates that it takes 4.6 seconds to fully load, which is much better than the average of 8.2 seconds, and that the number of requests was 57, compared to the average of 89.
I have also never experienced any down time and I have had several websites running in the 5 years I’ve been hosted by them. I also have a good friend who hosts his business site with Tsohost and I run his site for him and again I’ve not experienced any downtime or lag.
Setting up a WordPress site is as easy as one click, as is setting up email addresses and forwarding. There is a slew of plugins available from contact forms, to image galleries, guestbooks to e-commerce plug ins.
